We're looking for a Digital Data Analyst who specializes in Google Analytics, to support analytics for top tier eCommerce clients. The Digital Data Analyst will primarily focus on providing insights and understanding of large quantities of digital data and help identify and drive new key areas to help with the strategy and growth of retailers. You'll do this by providing advanced data analysis, data modelling, and implementing tagging on new product features, A/B testing and working closely with other internal development, marketing and SEO teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong web analytics background, possess a passion for data and have great communication skills.

Here is what you'll be doing on a day to day basis:

Analysis and Insights

  • Google Analytics advanced analysis (customer segmentation, user journey funnels, user & audience lifetime, multi-channel conversions, deeper ecommerce analysis, cross device reporting)
  • Provide analytics oversight on new projects and product features.
  • Building dashboards and reports in Tableau & Google Analytics.
  • Provide timely, accurate and actionable insights to inform ecommerce, product management, creative and marketing decisions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Educate and support internal teams and clients on the use of digital analytics tools and data

Tagging and Optimizing

  • Google Tag Manager tracking (implementing event, ecommerce, and other advanced tracking such as heat mapping, asset tracking and user id tracking)
  • Guide the implementation of digital analytics tools; ensure ongoing data collection and data accuracy; and capture all analytics tagging and tracking requirements.
  • Work closely with development teams to implement server-side tracking.
  • Testing and site optimizations with Google Optimize (A/B test, multivariate tests)
  • Data Governance and Privacy Compliance (Ensuring our US retailers comply with CCPA restrictions)
  • Data modelling and SQL analysis               
  • SQL development (writing advanced SQL queries to pull insights within Big Query and MSSQL data warehouse)
  • Big Query ML
  • Exploratory data analysis & data modelling in Python
  • Work with BI team members to identify opportunities to automate data pipelines and reports.

Here is the type of person we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in statistics, mathematics, computer, data science or related field
  • 1 - 3 years of hands on data and web analytics experience where you built dashboards — and not just from templates
  • Experience working with Google analytics data
  • Experience implementing tagging within Google Tag Manager or other tag management platforms
  • Experience coding in JavaScript with jQuery is advantageous
  • Experience working with Google Optimize is advantageous
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Google Data Studio; well versed in data visualization principles.
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Experience working with Big Query is an asset
  • Experience coding in JavaScript with jQuery is advantageous
  • Experience with the Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience using Python for statistical applications will be advantageous
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize data and distill into findings and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure is an asset
  • Must be a detail-oriented, creative thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Jira for managing tasks and a good understanding of working in an agile environment.
